Mechanism of Action of Montelukast
Montelukast is competitively and selectively antagonizes CysLT1 receptor (leukotrienes receptor) mediated Bronchoconstriction.Montelukast inhibits physiologic actions of LTD 4 at the CysLT1 receptor without any agonist activity.

Absorption: Montelukast is rapidly absorbed after oral administration and its bioavailability is about 60 - 70%.
Distribution: It is minimally distributed to the tissues in protein bound form (99%)
Metabolism: It is extensively metabolised in the liver.
Excretion: Montelukast is excreted in the faeces.
