Mechanism of Action of Methdilazine
Methdilazine is a histamine H1 antagonist. It competes with histamine for the normal H1-receptor sites on effector cells of the gastrointestinal tract, blood vessels and respiratory tract and bind to it. This results the prevention of activation of histamines (which are responsible for allergic symptoms). It provides effective, temporary relief of sneezing, watery and itchy eyes, and runny nose due to hay fever and other upper respiratory allergies

Interactions for Methdilazine
Alcohol and other CNS depressants (hypnotics, sedatives, tranquilizers, antianxiety agents, narcotic analgesics): Leads to potentiation of CNS depression.
MAOIs: Prolong and intensify anticholinergic effects.
Atropine and tricyclic antidepressants: Potentiate antimuscarinic effects.
Aminoglycosides: Ototoxicity of aminoglycosides masked.

Stored at room temperature. Protect from light and excessive heat. Keep out of reach of children
Effects of Missed Dosage of Methdilazine
Take the missed dose as soon as noticed and if it is the time for next dose then skip the missed dose. Continue the regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Effects of Overdose of Methdilazine
Give symptomatic and supportive treatment. Induce emesis or gastric lavage. Treat with vasopressors for hypotension and antiepileptic for convulsions
