Mechanism of Action of Latanoprost
Latanoprost is a prostaglandin F2-alpha analogue and it is a prostanoid selective FP receptor agonist which reduces the intraocular pressure (IOP) by increasing the outflow of aqueous humor mainly through increasing uveoscleral outflow.
Chemically Latanoprost is an isopropyl ester prodrug and after hydrolyses it forms active acid form.
