Mechanism of Action of Irgason dp

Irgason Dp is a chlorinated bisphenol antiseptic.It is useful against Gram-positive and most Gram-negative bacteria but with poor activity against Pseudomonas species. It is also active against fungi. It is used in soaps, creams, and solutions in concentrations of up to 2% for disinfection of the hands and wounds and for disinfection of the skin prior to surgery, injections, or venepuncture. It is also used in oral hygiene products and in preparations for acne.
