About Celecoxib
Non-steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID) ,COX-2 Selective inhibitor, Anti-inflammatory Agent.
Mechanism of Action of Celecoxib
This inhibits prostaglandin synthesis peripherally by selective noncompetitive inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme. It binds with its polar sulfonamide side chain to a hydrophilic side pocket region close to the active COX-2 binding site (Both COX-1 and COX-2 catalyze the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandin (PG) H2, the precursor of PGs and thromboxane). This results its anti-inflammatory action

Effects of Missed Dosage of Celecoxib
Take the missed dose as soon as noticed and if it is the time for next dose then skip the missed dose. Continue the regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
