Mechanism of Action of Parecoxib
Parecoxib is a prodrug of Valdecoxib which inhibit COX-2 enzyme selectively (COX-2 is produced in response to tissue injury and causes tissue inflammation and thus pain. It works by converting arachidonic acid into a specific prostaglandin which communicates the need for inflammation to the surrounding tissue). This results the anti-inflammatory action.

Distribution- Widely distributed in the body as its plasma protein bound form. 98% bound to the plasma proteins.
Metabolism-It is metabolized in the liver.
