About Vinorelbine
Semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid, anti-mitotic, Radiation-Sensitizing Agent, Antineoplastic.
Mechanism of Action of Vinorelbine
This semi synthetic alkaloid derivative inhibits the cell growth by binding and depolymerization of tubuline in metaphase. This inhibits the formation of microtubules. Due to this the newly replicated chromosomes cannot be separated and cell division is blocked. The aborted cell division process triggers cell death.
