About Dutasteride
A 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor, In benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH),male baldness.
Mechanism of Action of Dutasteride
This is a selective inhibitor of both type 1 and type 2 isoforms of steroid 5alpha-reductase (an intracellular enzyme that converts testosterone to 5alpha-dihydrotestosterone which influences the development of prostate gland). This decreasing level of this hormone relieves the symptoms associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia.

CYP3A4 is the principal hepatic enzyme isoform involved in the metabolism of alfuzosin. Do not co-administer with ketoconazole, itraconazole, or ritonavir. Use with caution with diltiazem,
Cimetidine: Repeated administration of 1 g/day cimetidine increased both alfuzosin Cmax and AUC values by 20%.
Atenolol: The combination of alfuzosin with atenolol may cause significant reductions in mean blood pressure and in mean heart rate.
