Budesonide Inhalers

About Budesonide Inhalers
Inhaled glucocorticoid (Oral), Antiasthmatic, anti-inflammatory.
Mechanism of Action of Budesonide Inhalers
This corticosteroids act inside the body`s cells to decrease the release of certain chemicals (mast cells, eosinophils, neutrophils, macrophages, and lymphocytes, histamine, eicosanoids, leukotrienes, and cytokines) that are involved in the immune system, and which initiate an inflammatory reaction. Thus it reduces inflammation. In asthma, the airways tighten due to inflammation and can also be blocked by mucus. This makes it difficult for air to get into and out of the lungs. By preventing the inflammation and excess mucus formation, budesonide helps prevent asthma

Formoterol Inhalers

About Formoterol Inhalers
Selective long-acting ?2- Adrenergic agonist, Phenethylamine derivative.Antiasthmatic.
Mechanism of Action of Formoterol Inhalers
This ?2 agonist acts locally in the lung as a bronchodilator. It stimulates adenyl cyclase leading to the production of cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) via adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Increased levels of cAMP result in relaxation of the bronchial smooth muscle.
Pharmacokinets of Formoterol Inhalers
Absorption- Rapidly absorbed after oral inhalation
Distribution- Widely distributed in the lungs. 61%-64% bound to the plasma proteins
Metabolism- Metabolized primarily by direct glucoronidation at either the phenolic or aliphatic hydroxyl group and O-demethylation followed by glucoronide conjugation at phenolic hydroxyl groups. Minor pathways involve sulfate conjugation of formoterol and deformylation followed by sulfate conjugation
Excretion- Excreted through urine and feces
