Mechanism of Action of Eletriptan
Eletriptan is a selective 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin5-HT) type 1B and 1D (5-HT1B/1D) receptor agonist. It is thought to be related to activation of 5-HT1 receptors located on intracranial blood vessels, leading to vasoconstriction and relieves the migraine

Acute attack of migraine with or without aura

CYP3A4 inhibitors may increase serum concentrations of Eletriptan
Ergot alkaloids or other 5-HT1 receptor agonists: May cause additive vasospastic effects

20-40 mg as single dose; if headache improves but recurs, may repeat a second dose after at least 2 hr. Max: 80 mg/day
