Mechanism of Action of Zinc carnosine

Zinc carnosine shows a long-term adhesive and permeable action on the gastric mucosa in acetic acid ulcer, and it has a comparable high affinity at the ulcerous site. Zinc carnosine protects epithelial cell membranes in the stomach and restores them to their normal metabolism.

Zinc carnosine inhibits the growth of the bacteria (H.Pyrlori), probably by strengthening the stomach mucosa and making it less susceptible to a bacterial infection. In experiments, the supplement Zinc carnosine retarded the TNF-alpha secretion of interleukin-8, a ?molecule involved in the inflammatory process.
