About Dextrose 10%Intravenous injection / parenteral nutrient, a solution of Dextrose 10% in Water, Carbohydrate caloric nutritional supplement and fluid replenishment.Mechanism of Action of Dextrose 10%Dextrose restores blood glucose levels in hypoglycemia and provides a source of carbohydrate calories after IV injection. It decreases losses of body protein and nitrogen, promotes glycogen deposition, and prevents ketosis. It reverses CNS effects of hypoglycemia by rapidly increasing serum glucose levels.
