About Abciximab
Glycoprotein IIb/IIIa Inhibitor, Antiplatelet Agent.
Mechanism of Action of Abciximab
It is a monoclonal antibody which inhibits glycoprotein IIa/IIIa receptor. It exerts it`s action by steric hindrance of the receptor itself and prevents platelet aggregation and subsequent thrombus formation and blocking interaction of fibrinogen.
