Nadroparin Pharmacology

Nadroparin

About Nadroparin
Low Molecular Weight Heparin, Anticoagulant.
Mechanism of Action of Nadroparin
Nadroparin is an anticoagulant. It is a low molecular weight heparin that binds to and accelerates the activity of antithrombin III. This produces inactivation of factor Xa and thrombin and prevents the formation of blood clots. Binding of Nadroparin with Heparin cofactor II also inhibits thrombin activity and produces anticoagulant effect.
It is used in the treatment and prophylaxis of venous thromboembolism and to prevent clotting during extracorporeal circulation. It is also used in the management of unstable angina.
