About Nicergoline
Ergot alkaloid(an ergoloid mesylate derivative), Antidementia, a cerebral vasodilator and in peripheral vascular disease.
Mechanism of Action of Nicergoline
Nicergoline has alpha adrenolytic action which activates blood flow to the brain, lowers vascular resistances, stimulates the use of glucose and oxygen in the brain, increases metabolism of brain cells and protect the brain from insufficient oxygen supply. Nicergoline slows the deposit of the age pigment Lipofuscin in the brain and prevents the free radical damage to brain cells. Nicergoline produces increased intelligence, memory, learning and recall.

May enhance the cardiac depressant action of propanolol.

Adult: 15 - 30 / day in 3 divided doses
Dementia: 30 - 60 mg daily for 3 weeks

Store at 15 - 30 degree C in a tightly closed container. Keep out of the reach of children.
Effects of Missed Dosage of Nicergoline
Take the missed dose as soon as noticed. If it is the time for next dose then skip the missed dose and take that dose. Do not double the dose.

Give supportive measures and symptomatic treatment. Treat hypotension with Noradrenaline or Angiotensin.
